Sheds and Summerhouses Information

All our sheds and summer houses are made from tongued and grooved timber, the windows for the sheds are shatter proof and the summer houses have toughened glass.

There are two types of treatments available which are used on the sheds and summer houses, the 1st being the solvent based treatment which is a surface coat treatment where the timber has been either dipped into a tank or hand painted.  

It is highly recommended that if you have purchased a solvent based treated building that you treat the new building with an appropriate timber preservative which must be water repellent on a yearly basis.  TJs cannot be held responsible for damp patches should an unsuitable preservative is used or the product is not applied correctly in line with the instructions on the product.

The 2nd being pressure treated, the timber is impregnated with the treatment prior to being cut and is therefore protected against rot, decay for at least 10 years although we would still recommend additional treatment to extend the life of your building.  All roofs are felted with green mineral felt and tacks are used to secure the felt to the roof, the felt is guaranteed for 6 months from fitting this is due to a number of issues which can occur for example weather conditions.
